DESCRIPTION
Doug Tompkins was a Titan of a man: ski racer, entrepreneur, climber, kayaker, pilot, conservationist, and oh yes, he started a little company called The North Face. When his life ended while paddling—as my friend Weston Boyles attempted a heroic rescue—I felt compelled and honored to tell the story. It is a tale of Doug’s life, Weston’s growth, a tragic accident, and the legacy that endures.
