DESCRIPTION
When Pat Phillips asked me to accompany him to Mongolia for a kayaking expedition, I was hesitant. There are plenty of places closer to home with much better paddling and more hospitable environs. But Mongolia is a land that takes one back in time; no fences, real nomads. And if you know where to look, as Pat does, some pretty good paddling can be found there too.
